Flame
Must have a quiet, steady, blue flame and no smoke, any other flame must be seen to by a technician.
o Large flickering yellow or yellow tipped and smoke
o Orange flame
o Flames lift above the burners
o Delayed ignition
o Odours
o Floating flame
o Burnback

Water Heaters
o Check once a year
o No corrosion blocking gas vents or tray
o Pilot light and electronic ignition working correctly
o Burner operating correctly
o Chimney/Flue is not blocked
o Correct Ventilation

Refrigerators
o Always ensure the fridge is level
o No torn or worn door gaskets
o Correct ventilation

Room or Roll About Heaters
o Check a minimum of once a year
o Or when changing cylinders for damage, cracks, wear and leaks
o O Rings must be replaced every 2 years
o Adequate ventilation for the room it's being used in

Fireplaces
o Check annually, before the start of winter
o No corrosion blocking gas vents or heat exchange tray
o Ensure artificial logs / coals are in the appropriate spot
o Pilot light and electronic ignition working correctly
o Chimney / Flue is not blocked
o Correct Ventilation

Ventilation
o Ventilation requirements are to ensure that the oxygen in the room does not fall below critical and/or dangerous levels for the maintenance of human life and the effective performance of the appliance(s)
o Chimney / Flue must be fitted for appliances that need one
o Two sources of air / vents are needed, ground level one through which fresh air will enter, a high or ceiling level one through which warmer stale air can leave the room
o In a bathroom a flue and air vents are essential

Gas line
o No visible damage
o No odours or ordable leaks
o Shut off valve working correctly

Pigtails (Flexible Hose that joins cylinders to the Regulator)
o Check a minimum once a year
o Or when changing cylinders for damage, cracks, wear and leaks

o Replaced every 5 years

Regulators
o Check a minimum once a year
o Or when changing cylinders for damage, cracks, wear and leaks
o Replace every 5 years.
